A Lifelong Learner
If I had to define myself today, I would have to say that I'm not done yet...
I'm still evolving and learning about myself.
However, I can say that over the years I have enjoyed many good, professional experiences which provided me with the opportunity to grow in different career directions. That has also allowed me to learn along the way valuable transferable skills that I have been able to apply to my next professional transition.
From being a model to becoming an event coordinator; from being an assistant to the director of an important Mexican publishing house to becoming involved in manufacturing in a family business in Canada; from being a graphic designer in Mexico pasting originals with wax, to learning the in's and out's of computers in Canada and doing all the typesetting and graphics from within a computer application; from working in the position of production coordination at a publishing house in the Okanagan Valley in British Columbia to providing multimedia consulting services for a pipleline company in Edmonton Alberta. I have had many comings and goings in this carrousel of life and as a result I count my skills and my experiences as blessings which I am ready to share.
To grow into the next level of my computer skills I completed a one-year full time certification course on Multimedia Development for the Internet and obtained the Adobe Expert Certification (ACE) for Photoshop and Premier –their image manipulation and video production software. Since then I have added four years of experience working with images.
Today, as a member of Alberta's public service and in my current position of Desktop Publishing Specialist working in the production of public and internal document for an important ministry, I continue to learn new software, new workflows and new technologies to support the team's experience of developing ideas into successful projects.
